Rescue
at Piranha
Did you know Piranha is the only student rescue brigade in the Netherlands? From the first certifications to lifeguarding the waters at events, we do it all. We even got our own rescue boat!

Rescue activities
Become a lifesaver
Get your journey started
Learn how to rescue someone from the water. Both by entering the water yourself, or by using rescue equipment to pull somebody to the edge of the water.
Become a lifeguard
Increase your knowledge
During the lifesaver training we are focusing on scenarios within the pool. During the lifeguard training we increase this knowledge to open water.
Lifeguarding events
Use your skills
Multiple times during the year we do surveillances at events like Freshtival and Rutbeek triathlon.

Rescue people from the water
Become a
Lifesaver
At the pool, we offer the Lifesaver 1, 2, and 3 certifications. The goal of these courses is to increase self-reliance and master the basic skills of water rescue.
During practical and theoretical lessons, you’ll learn what drowning looks like, what you can do to prevent it, how to perform a rescue safely, and much more.

Supervising open waters
Become a
Lifeguard
We also offer the open-water lifeguard training course. In this course, you’ll learn how to supervise events in and around the water and provide assistance when necessary. This course is often held at Rutbeek and focuses on supervision in open water.

Apply your skills
Help at
Events
We, as Rescue brigade, provide lifeguard services at various events such as Freshtival, the Rutbeek Triathlon, and the Sinterklaas parade. After completing the lifesaver or lifeguard course (or even during the training to gain experience), you can choose to join us to see if this is something for you.
